The ATMEA1 reactor is the most advanced evolutionary medium-power pressurized water reactor which rounds out AREVA and MHI's portfolio of third-generation reactors, offering the highest standards of safety and reliability as the EPR and APWR.
The ATMEA1 reactor combines reliable and proven nuclear technologies from AREVA and MHI which have more than 40 years of cumulative experience in designing and constructing nuclear power plants to offer their customers unrivaled technical expertise. It is equipped with built-in post-Fukushima protection. A high thermal efficiency and a flexible 12-to-24-month operation cycle length with less fuel cost bring superior operating performance, as well as less waste and less impact on the environment.
